Hi Kim! I love the SHIFT guide and look forward to learning how to teach its use in 2026. We're setting a goal for becoming carbon neutral for our congregation of Daughters of Charity in the US and SHIFT is an excellent tool! Many blessings for the holidays and new year. Thanks for your wisdom and encouragement to rest and slow down! Love and prayers from Sr. Mary Jo Stein
But we won't fix it without knowing the true situation of our social system of macroeconomics. This knowledge is vital because, and as in the past, all of the attempts to fix it have only made it worse-- and the most important and significant aspects by which we might manage to fix it have been neglected.
Basically and most simply we need to better share in the opportunities that exist in the natural resources in our land. These opportunities are being monopolized and exploited by a relatively few monopolists in our existing social system. That means that most workers today have to agree to the conditions of a number of business managers, whose control is set by those who own the land and control how it is being used (along with the employment of durable capital goods, like buildings and machinery).
This is a complicated situation which was first explained by the US economist Henry George, who asked and answered the question of why, with so much technical progress in its related science, does the state of poverty in our society not get reduced and why it so badly divides the class structure of the community into the haves and the have nots. He knew how to fix it when he wrote his classic book "Progress and Poverty" in 1879, but the situation today is not much improved as what it was then, and the reason is still the same, a lack of fairly sharing of working opportunities through partial land ownership and denial of the chances to use it properly.
So although we can fix it, due to greed and politicas we have not managed to properly share these chances, to make this a better world. First we need to properly understand the cause of the diversity in living standards, and this will only be achieved when the existing pseudo-science of macroeconomics becomes replaced by a truly scientific one instead.
I have been trying to rectify this failure for more logical thinking and better unbiased knowledge about of what our social system REALLY consists and how it ACTUALLY works. It is a different way of thinking compared to what many people have been led to believe, because the method should be logical instead of the intuitive and biased way this pseudo-science is taught today.
My 320-page book "Consequential Macroeconomics" is offered in e-copy form for free, without any obligation of the part of those who ask me for a free e-copy. Write to chestdher@gmail.com and I will provide you with the way this better science should be logically derived, to replace the past confusion of intuition, deliberate falsehoods and guesswork.

That's so wonderful to hear, thank you Sr. Mary Jo! 💚
Love seeing Simon’s new gig and how it came to pass. I played cornet for 3 years in middle school. Haven’t picked one up in 25 years. It takes a brave
soul to do that!
The cornet! You're due for a comeback, you must have a local pub with live music night that needs a cornet player??
