Really loved the photo of the bison. I see myself joining you there on the snowy road as another bison, taking one resolute step in front of the other.
I can truly recommend the One Sec app (https://one-sec.app). It helped me reduce my social media time a lot, and now I barely use them. It works by having you wait a short while (standard setting is 10 s) to open the app. I am truly surprised at how effective that 10 second wait is β though for Facebook I ended up having to set it to a whopping 40 seconds :-). Of course, for people who feel they can just remove social media apps, this is not needed.
Thanks Marie, that is a great suggestion! I hadn't heard of One Sec, I can imagine it's really effective. Similarly, I've noticed when I have slow connection I often just close down an app before it loads. Amazing how big of a difference a bit of delayed gratification makes!
Your paper on rural sustainability looks very interesting - looking forward to reading it! And great to hear you are working on a new book! What will it be about?

I like Screen Zen for a similar feature!
Thank you for an excellent newsletter!
Thanks for reading, Filippa! :)

Thanks Sachiko for reading! The new book is still taking shape-- but will go beyond climate to cover sustainability more comprehensively. :)
I relate to the flat feeling at the news. I love 'resolute and clear-eyed and constructive.' Thank you!!!
Aww thanks so much Sarah. Glad to know I'm in very good company! Hugs from Sweden.
